link aggregation: final goodbyes?
i hooked up that 50$ switch from yunglin or whatever, yeah, i couldnt find the lacp setting so i gotta screw with it over a few days. it was advertised as having lacp, and i did a google search for settling up link aggregation using lacp or 802ac i think its called, and yeah, i think i need two switches, probably wan1->switch1 wan2->switch2 wan1->switch1 && wan2->switch2 = aggregate link, or something, im down to 300$ so yeah ill have to do my research and see what i can do, since it beats paying an extra 150$/mo for an extra 1gps from att
the switch is cool i think, it does support a web interface. heres how that works, you connect the switch to a computer using a normal cat cable, and set the ip of the computer to a 192.168.2.* address, i think its 0/24, however 192.168.2.1 is reserved even when fully configured and utilized, but after your on the same subnet as the smart switch, you can access the web portal and configure stuff. theres a bunch of new tech on the web interface, including qos.
after a google search, it does infact support some kind of lacp, but theres no option so today ill try to do a google search and setup my mac m1 as some kind of router, where i can aggregate two links, and pass a connection to another switch (so ill need three interfaces, two for the aggregate, one to pass internet sharing to another switch or directly to my workstation
and yeah, macos 26 atleast supports setting the wifi card up as a wifi hotspot, but chances are the data will be fed into my netgear nighthawk wifi router for 56g wifi
well, thats it for this article
