online community college + rewards

sorry if this post sounds obfuscated, woke up on the wrong side of the bed

forward: student loans need to be repaid; either in lump sum or in monthly installments *until the debt is paid off*. grants *do not* need to be repaid, along with scholarships.
you need atleast a c average to continue getting student loans and grants!

the mass majority of community colleges allow taking online colleges to obtain an associates degree, an aa made for transfer (sadly theres only like 4 online colleges worth transferring to), or a certificate for vocational needs, such as iphone app programming or a certifcate in c++ program, which can supplement any programmers job or provide decent footing for new comers looking to get into programming

an aa (associates) takes roughly a two and a half years, roughly, including classes up to calculus and classes including english and biology considering classes failed and taking prereq classes,. most or some or a decent portion of these classes can be done entirely online, and most require zoom (which is software to use your webcam to communicate with people, which can be daunting for some people, however, most colleges that offer online classes are pretty cool, but you should research or ask to see if your class is done over textual means or zoom

please be sure to utilize every resource your community college has for success, may it be doing extra work for extra credit, contributing to your college for credit, and or talking with your peers, teachers, and counsolers regarding your career

you need to goto an online community college within your state or you will be charged upwards of 4k!! extra in tuition, this is called out of state tuition and should only be taken in extreme circumstances

now lets talk about the money you can get from going to an online college: pell grants start at 5k, and they're usually split between semesters, meaning if you get 5k in grants, it'll be split into 1.7k installments over the year. you need to sign up at fafsa.gov to get your financial aid paperwork sent to your college. without singing up at fafsa.gov, your college will be unable to get authorization from the feds/state to give you grant/student loan money.

grants can net you upwards of 5-8k, and thats split between semesters, now you can apply for scholarships, ive gotten two valued at 2k total, and now theres student loans. you can cash out a grant total of 12k in your freshman year at college, but these loans need to be paid back, meaning if you take out 80k in loans, you'll be required under financial laws to pay back or they *will* tank your credit score, which ironically makes it difficult to find work

most online classes use an online software suite called 'canvas', which is a web based interface to your classes.

also you get a free email possibly for life when you enroll in a community college! it will probaby be (letter_of_first_name)lastname@mail.college.edu.

you can also add your college to your resume, and there are work study programs and there are ways to get work while enrolled in community college, such as talking to your professor or talking with the counsoler, maybe even turning to a web search engine.

please remember to utilize all resources from your college's website when going to online college!

the ultimate goal of going to an online community college is to obtain a ba pr bs/ma by transfer! thats when the real money comes in! lol, but yeah, if you simply want to transfer to a physical college like ucb or a state college, you can get an aa online from a community college, and not sure how they look at it, an online aa from a community college, but they should be able to accept you based on merit of having an aa, considering grades and acumen

please fill out all paperwork asap, fafsa forms, college applications, special needs forms, etc, and make sure everything is ready and prepared for your first day at online college! online community college is awesome for the disabled!

remember to keep in touch with college staff, professors, and faculty during classes! ask as many questions as possible and they should help you out!

if youre having troble navigating and enrolling in classes, be sure to call the college your going to, and or talk to admissions, about enrolling asap! most people can cash ina good 15k just by enrolling once and going to classes for a mnth! agian, needs to be repaid but its 15k! thats enough to get a car!

happy studying!
